Membership enrollment is the most vital organisational link between the vast multitude of youth and our organisation. Membership drive is one of the most important political and ideological campaigns that take our message as a democratic mass youth organisation to youth as a whole. The greatest weakness of the weaker states is that they treat this work as an individual exercise and handle it very casually. In all the successive conferences and in the resolution on organisation, this has been repeatedly pointed out.
If we take a look at the membership figures at all India level we find thet there is a steady growth in our membership during the period from 1980 through 1999. This has been achieved due to constant organisational effort.
Inspite of this increase at the national level there are some disturbing negative features in some states. As is clear from the charts in the detail view showing the break-up of state wise membership figures. If we further analyse the figure of membership district wise we will find similar figures among the districts too. It is necessary to review membership drive at every level. Wherever and whenever there is organisational weakness it is reflected in the membership figures.
