  Sourav Ganguly on Singur issue
  KOLKATA:

After acting as a brand ambassador for West Bengal’s IT sector, one of the state’s most famous sons, Sourav Ganguly, has now decided to bat for Tata Motors’ Nano venture.

In a rare non-cricket-related statement issued on Tuesday, the former Indian cricket captain said, “The issue at Singur has become a national discussion today. As a citizen of the state of West Bengal and part of the Tata Group since 1994, I feel industry is the future of the state.’’

‘‘The starting of the Nano project will be a beginning of an era in West Bengal which will completely revolutionize the prospects of the state and the future of the youth of our state. Brand Tata will turn Singur into another Jamshedpur,’’ he said.
